Upgrading Your FOCUS- Limiting the Negative Effects of Social Media

How often do you think about the time you spend on social media?

Andrea & Brooke want to talk about it, as time on social media affects the way we feel about ourselves, interact with the world, and robs us of real life experiences. This episode will help you run your social media experience instead of it running you.

Gold Ivy walks through their acronym F-O-C-U-S that will give you quick, effective tools to help you upgrade from unconscious scrolling to intentional fulfillment in your everyday life.

F-O-C-U-S

Figure Out

Gain awareness on how much time you are spending on your phone. List 3 things you want to make time for and know that by setting limitations on apps, you are allowing yourself more time for what is actually important to you.

Off Limits

No phone zones. Where is a non-negotiable/off limits space? If you don’t have one, create one (make a few). Ideas- dinner table, car, bedroom.

Confidence Check

Rate your confidence. Understand that social media plays into it. Are you feeling negative, lonely, anxious, have a lack of confidence, energy is depleted, or your peace disturbed after using social media or following certain people?

Upgrade Your Choices-

Follow people consciously. What are you’re top three values? If the person you’re following doesn’t represent one of them, unfollow them. Delete apps and turn off notifications.

Set a Bedtime for Digital Devices

Your phone needs to recharge and so do you.

Piece of Gold

Time wasted rationalizing the mediocre could be time spent creating the magnificent.
